It's very cold here, day and night. Among the usual things that have to be done, somehow I managed to work something for my soul, without too many rules, only with joy. A simple technique, found while I was surfing on the internet, helped me create this table runner. I did only the top, the next days I will have to quilt and finish it, but I already like it ;-).

Back in time, in the traditional romanian villages, winter was the season for gatherings. Women of all ages were meeting at one family or another and they were all working: they were weaving linen or hemp for shirts and bed sheets, they were spinning wool for socks and for heavy winter clothes, they were sewing napkins and shirts, they were embroidering and they were tailoring clothes. They had golden hands... And it was natural for them to sing while working or to tell stories in the golden light of the petrol lamps, while the frost was drawing ice flowers on the windows...
Nu-i asa ca a iesit ceva dragut? :-)
My little girl recreated a small gathering, using toy furniture, two small rugs and two dolls made of wool by her. Isn't it nice? :-)
